Supply Chain Supervisor

POSITION PURPOSE
Provides direct supervision to the Supply Chain Staff. Responsible for managing receiving and inventory control functions. Recommend and implements process improvements based on best practice for effective department operations. Handles all inventory related activities to ensure appropriate levels of inventory are maintained and continuously looks for improvements. Acts as the primary liaison between supply chain and all departments (customers) in the hospital. Assists departments with inventory management and implements sound inventory practices where needed. Provides project leadership, team direction, and facilitation for department operations and projects.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Manages the daily operations of the Supply Chain Staff. Work includes assigning tasks and priorities, scheduling, performance reviews, counseling and disciplining employees.
Ensures all receiving, put way, delivery and replenishment activities are done in a coordinated and efficient fashion.
Works with the Manager Supply Chain Operations and Logistics to develop budget each fiscal year and to track and maintain budget during the year.
Recommend and implements process improvements for effective department operations.
Provides project leadership and team facilitation for department operations and projects.
Supports the value analysis process through effective product conversions and communications to the staff.
Participates on Value Analysis committees. Manages all product conversions.
Analyzes the Trinity Health Supply Chain Operations scorecard and is responsible for improvement of key metrics.
Ensures cycle counts are completed per weekly goals to maintain inventory accuracy.
Analyzes utilization information for inventory locations to optimize PAR levels and mix for all departments within the hospital. Supports and conducts annual physical inventories.
Serves as the materials management representative on the Emergency Preparedness committee.
Works in conjunction with the Saint Joseph Mercy Health System Regional Supply Chain team to develop best practices across the system.
Works with OTE to support volunteers in the department as needed.
Coordinates the preventative maintenance and repair of supply chain equipment.
Learns other job functions within supply chain team and backfills as required. Maintains good rapport and cooperative relationships.
Approaches conflict in a constructive manner.
Helps to identify problems, offer solutions, and participate in their resolution. Maintains the confidentiality of information acquired pertaining to patient, physicians, colleagues, and visitors to St. Joseph Mercy Health.
Discusses patient and hospital information only among appropriate personnel in appropriately private places. Behaves in accordance with the Code of Conduct, Service Excellence Standards, and the Mission, Vision and Values of SJMH.
Assumes responsibility for performance of job duties in the safest possible manner, to assure personal safety and that of coworkers, and to report all preventable hazards and unsafe practices immediately to management.

Performs other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE
Education: Requires Bachelor degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Finance or related field or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Excellent customer service skills. Good interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to organize daily tasks. Capable of comprehending and operating the materials Management Information System. Demonstrated mathematical and analytical skills necessary to collect and process data required for routing and/or special statistical reports. Able to work independently and organize own work. Able to operate material handling equipment. Must be able to bend, lift (50 lbs.), push/pull carts (200 lbs.)

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
