Speech & Language Pathologist

General Summary: The Rehabilitation Services Staff Speech-Language Pathologist provides evaluation and treatment of hospital patients in a range of specialty programs.
This is a contingent position that mainly covers weekends and holidays. Also, may include some weekday coverage.
Formulates individualized, age specific, therapy goals based upon assessment results and patient needs. Implements patient care in a manner consistent with the therapy goals and the changing needs of the patient using a variety of therapeutic approaches. Orients patients and families to the therapeutic purposes and procedures of Speech-Language Pathology, and educates them about home programs, impairments and progress. Provides for own professional growth and education and contributes to staff development activities. Stays up to date on all participating insurance guidelines for rehabilitation services. Provides thorough documentation on each patient interaction. Documentation must be timely and include all pertinent information required by state law, accrediting agencies and 3rd party payers. Completes daily charges for each patient while adhering to ethical practices per insurance guidelines for each payer. Works with clinical coordinator, director and/or secretarial staff to ensure schedules are managed well to achieve targeted productivity and clinic budget.
Required Education, Experience and Certification/Licensure
Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology and a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association Licensed in the State of Michigan

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
